Kirby Squeak Squad review

Kirby Squeak Squad is an import from America. Its going to be called Kirby Mouse Attack over in Europe. We are here to review it before it comes out over here in Europe. Anyway on with the review...

Kirby Squeak Squad is Kirby's return to the platforming world after the touch controlled adventure that was Power Paintbrush. Is Kirby's second DS outing as good or even better then his first? As soon as you start the game you will notice something. The game is colourful, very colourful. The thick textures, the enimies that are full of charecter... Everything. The story starts as Kirby's Cake is stolen but a mystery theif. Kirby thinks it would be King Deedee so he starts his adventure. But no, don't worry, the whole story is not based around the missing cake as it unfolds into something else that makes it a great plot. The Gameplay is some of the best around and even if you have completed every other Kirby game it never feels old or repetative. Whats been so great about Kirby is that he can suck in Enimies and get there Powers. And in this game there are plenty of Powers and there are even a few new Powers.

Now since this is the DS there are two screens. Well on the top you have the main platforming action going on but what is the bottom screen used for? Well this is Kirby's stomach. Here you can hold up to 5 different items. They are either Powers or healing items but you also hold the chests you collect in the level down here as well. You can mix items together by draging them togther with the stylus or your finger. So you could mix 2 rice cakes togrther to make a cherry or a cherry and a drumstick together to make a Maximum tomato. And you can also mix Powers together to make new Powers as well.

Now like I just said there are chests that you can collect to unlock stuff. Now collecting these chests adds depth to the game as you want to unlock more stuff. Luckily finding these chests never gets frustrating due to the gameplay being so good you will have a smile on your face replaying the levels to find them. Some people say the game is too short and you will collect all the chests really quickly. Now the game is short in a sense but huge in another. The game is short in the sence well it won't take very long to complete the game but... The gameplay is so good you will keep playing it for ages even after 100% completion. And I mean it. you will playing it for ages even once you have got all the chests.

Now there are 3 subgames to play on your own or with freinds with just 1 game card. Now these games are very fun and most people will enjoy them but the problem with them is there is no reason to play on them more. You don't unlock anything from doing them you just play them and have fun. But the multiplayer is still a right laugh with them and they are still enjoyable simple games.
